Message form B.O.M
My dear fellow Board of Governors, Principal, P.T.A members, Teachers, Non teaching staff, Parents, Students and all Stakeholders Ladies and Gentlemen:
I humbly acknowledge the honour bestowed on me as the chairman of Mikeu Board of Governors and I take it with a heart full of love to all of you and mostly to those who nominated, appointed and elected me to this office.
As we start the journey to take Mikeu Secondary School to where we want it to be in the next five years, by writing a strategic plan, I want to thank those who sat down and came up with this wonderful idea. God bless them.
Strategic plan is a road map showing us where we are today, where we want to be in the next five years and how we shall reach there giving priorities to some goals, activities and monitoring and evaluating them.
Since the inauguration of the BOG on 9th Feb 2012 by the Nakuru North Deputy D.E.O, Mr. Leonard Ongori, we have been working very closely with our able and committed principal Madam Stella Mbugua, P.T.A members, Teachers and parents by developing action plans and setting targets even before the ideas of strategic plans was introduced by the Ministry.
Some of the issues and needs we looked at were: -
Promote individual development self fulfilment.
Promotion of sound moral and religious values.
Promotion of social equality and responsibility etc.
One of our goals is to have an effective school with the following characteristics.
Partnership between the community and the school.
Collaboration of staff and students.
Effective communication between staff, students and community.
Shared goals and values.
Air of optimism.
Collective approach to changes.
Attention to the needs of the staff, students, parents.
Desire of improvement.
With the above goals we can gauge ourselves whether we are on the right track and whether we are giving quality education at the timed schedule by evaluating our expectations. As we develop and draw this vision, mission, core values, motto, and the school anthem, I believe, the energy, the faith, the devotion which we bring to this endeavour will light Mikeu Secondary School and all who we serve and the glow from that fire can truly light the world.
Let us summon a new spirit of service and responsibility where each one of us resolves to pitch in and work harder and promise to look after not only ourselves but each other. We shall employ our wisdom and wealth of experience to convert our good words into good deeds in a new vigour for progress.
Many people will little note or long remember what we say here but they will never forget what we shall do here. It is rather for us to be here dedicated to the great task before us that this honoured platform, we take increased devotion to the cause for which we have been entrusted with.
I ask all of us here the same high standard of strength and sacrifice which we ask you with good conscience and only sure reward with history, the final judge of our deeds. BOG members, let us go forth and lead Mikeu Secondary School asking God’s wisdom that surpasses every human understanding, knowing, delivering the vision truly to be our own.
Finally, I end with a feeling of responsibility to all of you. One would like to believe that our joint effort to achieve the Mikeu dream will be comparable with our hopes.
Thank you and God bless you.
Joseph Kimani Kamuri.
